The teacher understands and uses multiple methods of assessment to engage learners in their own growth, to document learner progress, and to guide the teacher's ongoing planning and instruction.
This case study illustrates a set of assessments, which are applied to create a SIOP lesson that is best suited for that particular student's academic needs. It demonstrates an understanding of the concept of assessment using standards-based procedures with ELL's. It highlights the importance of assessment for early intervention and preparing for both content and language-based instruction.
